Valamar Argosy Hotel

Argosy was still closed so they moved us to the President Hotel next door (5*) So this review is for that hotel (however we stayed Argosy last year and really enjoyed it also - great pools and food) Rooms large, wonderful sea views. Bathrooms with walk in showers. Outside areas for Drinks/restaurant are great / lovely views and sunshine. Breakfast buffet wonderful.s Service and staff were great everywhere. Great to get no 6 bus to old town right outside door, (or #7 to the bus terminal)

The location is great, the bus stops a minute walk away and runs every 15 minutes in to the old town and there is a beautiful promenade walk along the coast with plenty of restaurants. The hotel was clean a well maintained. Room was a good size and the beds were very comfy, Breakfast had a really good selection of hot and cold food. They have live music in the evenings and a lovely garden area to sit and the cocktails are very reasonably priced. 2 infinity pools were perfect and never busy - the pool area does get busy but we always managed to find a lounger. There is also a spa and indoor pool which was lovely and cool and quiet.

Breakfast here was amazing, the views from around the pool were stunning, the rooms very quiet and comfortable. We asked for a quite room and they delivered :) The saunas were lovely - we always had them to ourselves, and the indoor pool allowed a proper swim. Lots of seating in the evening with gentle evening entertainment - this was just the right level, you could chat and it was not at all intrusive. I did an aqua aerobics class with Tony - that was great fun. Fantastic walking routes from the hotel and the Bus into the Old Town leaves from pretty much directly outside the hotel.

Though the hotel itself is beyond it's glory days the amenities are decent and the surroundings make up for it.

Superb service! The staff arranged our transport to and from from the airport. Car was brand new, inside was cool and the driver was very friendly. Check-in was quick, the room was as we had paid for. Rooms were extremely quiet and very spacious and clean and the air conditioning worked brilliant. The cleaning stafff did a great job greeting us with a smile every morning and engaging in conversations. Brekfeast + other amenities were very good and excellent quality. The 2 restaurants both had a wide selection of different foods to choose from and price was very reasonable. The pool + beach access was absolutely fantastic.
